The Open Air Museum is Japan's first open-air museum, opened in 1969 in Hakone in Ashigarashimo District, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It has collections of artworks made by Picasso, Henry Moore, Taro Okamoto, Yasuo Mizui, Churyo Sato, and many others. There are 120 sculptural works on permanent display across the huge sculpture park.

Skálanes is a nature and heritage research center situated within a 1250 hectare independent nature reserve. A remote research center is located in an old farmhouse that sits at the mouth of Seydisfjordur on the East Coast of Iceland. The surroundings are ideal for exploring the wild life and local bird colonies such as arctic terns, eiders and puffins, as well as the Icelandic flora and fauna, the mountains, waterfalls, sea cliffs, beaches and the rich cultural history of Iceland.

By working directly with the small-scale farmers who grow quinoa, rice, sugar and cacao, helping them institute Fair Trade and Organic practices and assisting them in improving both quality of food and quality of life, Alter Eco is creating a system that benefits everyone involved.
